Happy 10th Anniversary!

On Monday 18th April 2022, we celebrated our 10th anniversary.  This was marked by each centre holding a ‘Meet & Mingle’ open day event.  Our centres in Brighton, Hull, Newquay, Swindon, Wales, Weymouth, Worcester, and Worthing all welcomed local dignitaries, and key contacts from our partner organisations such as Job Centre Plus, Local Authorities and National Careers Service.

The Leader of Swansea Council, Cllr Rob Stewart, attended the event in our Swansea office and said “Huge Congratulations to Ian and the Whitehead-Ross team – a great success story.”

Managing Director, Ian Ross, started the business part time alongside his role as an Economics teacher.  Starting with a small workforce of just 14 staff, there are now 84 team members based across the UK.

Ian said; “In the last 10 years we have supported 7,500 individuals across our programmes, such as supporting adults to achieve new qualifications, coaching jobseekers to secure employment, and assisting families to become more resilient. I am grateful to our dedicated staff, both past and present, for making our organisation such a success.  It has been a rollercoaster of a decade and I am proud of everyone who has accessed our services and bettered their lives.

This week, we launched The WREC Podcast.  Episode 1, featuring Ian and his business journey over the last decade, can be listened to here on Buzzsprout or here via Spotify.

To mark our anniversary, throughout this year each centre will be participating in fund raising activities to help raise £10,000 to be split between local charities, as chosen by each area.

The selected charities are – Wales Air Ambulance, Sussex Homeless Support, DISC Newquay, Dorset Mind, DASH Swindon, Turning Tides, Hull for Heroes and SSAFA Worcestershire.
