Our New Adult Education Centre in Weymouth!

Our New Adult Education Centre in Weymouth is OPENING SOON!

This project will bring back to use an empty commercial office and refurbish it into a modern adult education centre, providing government-funded programmes for adults and young people to retrain and get back into work.  This will help to reduce poverty in the Weymouth and Portland areas by supporting disadvantaged individuals to gain new qualifications and progress into paid employment, thus increasing their household income.  The building will also act as a community hub; we plan to work in partnership with local third sector services by offering space for them to engage with our learners on topics such as housing, debt, mental health and domestic abuse.

We’re helping reduce Dorset’s footprint!

Our project has been part funded by Low Carbon Dorset as part of the European Regional Development Fund, in a bid to reduce our organisation’s carbon footprint.

The Low Carbon Dorset funds will be used to fund:

  • Installation of energy efficient lighting.
  • Installation of insulation.
  • Installation of UPC windows.

The project will help to improve energy efficiency in an old building that is 150 years old, and support a low carbon project within the community to support unemployed adults and young people.

You can find our new centre at 52 St Mary Street, Weymouth or you can contact the team on tel: 01305 261626 or email dorset@wrecltd.co.uk
