Whitehead-Ross is delivering an initial engagement programme for 24 ex-offenders in Carmarthenshire, Swansea and Neath Port Talbot during the coronavirus crisis.
We are receiving referrals from our established links with the Probation Service and initially delivering remote engagement by providing employability information, advice and guidance, along with supporting participants to achieve qualifications.
Each individual is accessing the project for 10 hours per week over a 4-week period. Qualifications on offer include the City and Guilds Level 1 Health and Safety for Construction, Level 1 Skills for Retail and Level 2 Business Administration. This will support participants to improve individual skill levels to match those required by employers.
In supporting the remote delivery of qualifications, we are utilising our Moodle platform where learners can access workbooks, resources, videos, webinars and other useful information. We are providing remote job search through My Worksearch – an online case management platform with jobseeker access for job search.
The project has been supported by the European Social Fund through Welsh Government.
