CSCS stands for Construction Skills Certification Scheme and is the leading skills certification scheme within the UK construction industry. Since the 1990s the CSCS maintains a database of individuals working in the construction industry who are up to the required standards.
CSCS is a non-for-profit organisation set up by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) to raise standards within the construction industry.
To apply for a CSCS card in most cases you must pass the CTIB Health, Safety and Environment test within the previous two years.
Requirements:
Living in a Brighton & Hove, Swansea or Swindon postcode area.
For Brighton & Hove
- Be 19 years old or over at the start date of the course.
- Be unemployed and receive a mean tested state benefit or be employed and earn less than £18,525 gross annual salary.
For Swindon
Aged 15+ and be Unemployed or Economically Inactive (not in receipt of benefits)
For Swansea
Aged 25+ and be Unemployed or Economically Inactive (not in receipt of benefits)
