Our youth engagement programme, funded by our ESF Community Grant angages NEET young people in Brighton, Hove, Newhaven and Shoreham. A variety of activities will be offered to reach young people, maintain their engagement and deliver outcomes, including progression onto WREC’s Future Focus: Skills for Young People programme.
We will engage with young people (aged 16-24) through 1-2-1 support, mentoring and outdoor pursuits and activities. The activities will support the young people to develop their confidence, motivation, team working and communication skills. In addition, we will provide new experiences and a platform for young people to meet with others from across their area. The project is designed to support young people to stretch horizons, challenge their thinking and develop their skills.
Activities will be young person-led from a wide variety of options including bowling, visits to local attractions, photography, job search skills, enterprise, sports, art and craft, cookery and fashion, to name a few. Equal opportunities will underpin the provision by providing a safe environment where young people can engage with our Youth Engagement Officer who will provide help and support in their transition towards adulthood.
