We were commissioned by Carmarthenshire County Council to run a new Welsh medium youth club in Llandeilo during the academic year 2014-15 for young people aged between 11 and 18. Run on Monday evenings during school term-time only, sessions were designed to support young people to stretch horizons, challenge their thinking and develop their skills, in line with the Welsh Government’s Youth Work Wales Strategy.

Activities were young-person led from a wide variety of options including t-shirt tie die, photography, job search skills, enterprise, sports, art and craft, website building, cupcake decoration, fashion, DVD nights, citizenship and street dance. Sessions provided young people with informal learning by offering accreditation units for the City and Guilds Level 1 Award in Employability Skills, such as drug awareness, environmental awareness and volunteering.
